This quarter, the NIC will bring members together to discuss S4S at the health system and national levels.

The American Society of Health-System Pharmacists (ASHP) Standardize 4 Safety (S4S) initiative highlights the importance of standardized concentrations of intravenous medications across the continuum of care. However, aligning with this initiative can be challenging. Additionally, pharmacy practice continues to evolve, and thus, standard concentrations selected by S4S are routinely evaluated and updated.

Joining us will be Jeff Hurren, Pharm.D, BCPS, Medication Safety Officer, Michigan Medicine to discuss his organization's journey with S4S implementation, and Mary Ann Kliethermes, B.S., Pharm., Pharm.D., FAPhA, FCIOM, the Director of Medication Safety and Quality at ASHP, who will share updates, the proactive evaluation process, and the future outlook for S4S.
