About Us

Based on more than a decade of research and development within the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia, and in collaboration with adult and pediatric systems nationwide, we were founded with a mission to help healthcare organizations unlock the value of their medication data to prevent errors and reduce costs.

founding story

Our story begins in the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia as a collaboration between the Departments of Pharmacy, Medication Safety and Innovation. Following the adoption of multi-million dollar technologies like electronic health records, medication dispensing cabinets and smart infusion pumps, a small group of clinicians began developing a solution to unlock the full value of the data these disparate solutions produce.

That began a journey of close collaboration with other adult and pediatric systems across the country to develop a generalizable medication safety and stewardship platform to centralize and manage data from disparate technologies.

This small group spun off from CHOP in 2016 to form Bainbridge Health. Today we are a team of clinicians, engineers and data scientists working with adult and pediatric healthcare organizations across North America to reduce cost, prevent errors and maintain compliance.

Our Mission

Medication is complex, costly, and dangerous. Our mission is to develop and apply clinician friendly technology and support services to distill that complexity in order to prevent errors, reduce cost and share best practices across our network of healthcare partners.

Our Goals

Despite multi-million dollar investments in technology aimed to enhance safety and improve efficiency, healthcare organizations often do not have visibility on whether these technologies are actually preventing or promoting harm. Bainbridge Health’s medication safety and stewardship platform maximizes the return on investment hospitals have made in safety, quality and efficiency. Our goals are to:

  • Apply both technology and professional support services to enable clinicians to focus on clinical decision making—not clinical “data clerking”—by making medication data easy to aggregate, analyze and act on.
  • Break down silos within and across organizations such that decision making can be more informed and collaborative. By leveraging collective learnings of our network, clinical leaders no longer have to make medication management and safety decisions in a vacuum.
